STARKVILLE - Rest easy, Mississippi State fans. Dak Prescott is coming back.
On Wednesday, MSU's record-setting junior quarterback confirmed that he will return to school for his senior season in 2015, passing on the opportunity to declare for the NFL Draft. He made the announcement at a Wednesday afternoon press conference at MSU's Seal Football Complex.
In Prescott, MSU will bring back a quarterback who set 12 individual school records in 2014 while leading the Bulldogs to a 10-3 season and an appearance in the Capital One Orange Bowl. The Haughton, Louisiana native accounted for a school record 42 touchdowns this season, and he broke MSU's all-time record for touchdowns scored midway through the season, a mark he had eclipsed by 19 (71-52) by season's end.
Prescott had left his options open following the season and sent in paperwork to find out his NFL Draft projections from league scouts.
This story will be updated at the conclusion of Prescott's press conference.
