Engagement Kayla Joanna Murphy and Kevin Charles Hatcher

Mrs. Sarah Jo Murphy announces the engagement of her daughter, Kayla Joanna Murphy of Columbus, to Kevin Charles Hatcher of Columbus. Kayla is also the daughter of the late Mr. William Thomas (Billy) Murphy. Kevin is the son of Mrs. Mona Kay Heath and Mr. Kenneth Dell Hatcher, both of Columbus. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey J. Lann, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Murphy, all of Columbus. She is a 2000 graduate of New Hope High School, a 2002 graduate of East Mississippi Community College, a 2004 graduate of the University of Mississippi and a 2008 graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She is employed by Rehab at Work as a physical therapist. The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Stokes and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hatcher, and the great-grandson of Mrs. Robbie Wingo, all of Columbus. He is a 2002 graduate of Caledonia High School and is currently attending Mississippi University For Women pursuing a degree in secondary education and coaching. He is employed with Hatcher and Livingston Construction in Columbus. Wedding vows will be exchanged Nov. 7, 2009, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Columbus.
