The Union Academy/Hunt Reunion Club will celebrate the 38th reunion for graduates and former students Oct. 24-30. The R.E. Hunt High School class of 1960 will be celebrating their 50th high school graduation.
The week of events includes Sunday worship, a get-acquainted hour, fashion show, barbecue and dance. The week will climax with the Maurice Williams Scholarship Banquet Saturday, Oct. 30, at 6:45 p.m. at the Nancy Hogarth Dining Center on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.
The banquet speaker will be Anthony T. Brown Sr., a 1972 graduate of S.D. Lee High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Education degree and an Educational Specialist degree from MSU.
Presently he is assistant superintendent for federal and special programs of the Columbus Municipal School District and an adjunct instructor in the Education Division at Mississippi University for Women. He is a member of the Stephen Chapel MB Church, where he serves as Sunday School teacher and chairman of the Board of Deacons. He is married to the former Linda Carol Inge; they have one son and one granddaughter.
