Young women ages 13 to 24 have an opportunity to enter the Miss Golden Triangle and Miss Golden Triangle Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageants set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at New Hope Middle School Auditorium. The public is invited to attend; tickets are $10 at the door.
Each crowned winner will receive a prize package and cash scholarship and advance to Miss Mississippi or Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen contests in the spring of this year where they will have another chance to win more cash scholarships and the chance to compete on the Miss Mississippi stage, said Cassidy Burris, director of the Golden Triangle event.
Contestants 13 to 17 may enter the Miss Golden Triangle Outstanding Teen Pageant. Entry fee is $50. Contact Burris on or before Jan. 11 by email or phone to enter.
Miss Golden Triangle contestants must register with the Batsons Children’s Miracle Network listed on the Miss Mississippi website, missmississippipageant.com, said Burris. Entry fee is $100.
All contestants must live or be enrolled in school in Mississippi.
Participants will each have a private interview with five judges, take part in evening gown, swim/athletic wear and talent segments, and answer a randomly-drawn question on stage.
“This is an awesome opportunity for young ladies in this area to receive cash scholarships for college,” said Burris.
