The American Cancer Society and Camellia Hospice are seeking local volunteers to be a part of the inaugural Boots & Bling Ball scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 at Trotter Convention Center in Columbus. A meeting will be held for interested community members on Monday, July 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Baptist Education Center Room 5.
Community volunteers are the backbone of this event, said Rhonda Richardson, Boots & Bling Ball chair.
The American Cancer Society is the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings and more.
“Nowhere else can you make the greatest impact in the fight to end cancer than when you volunteer and raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society,” said Richardson. “We rely on the support of volunteers to help make this event a success.”
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease today, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations.
