Ja’Nautica Thomas and Tyler Wilson of Lowndes County have been awarded Community Friends of ICS (Insitute of Community Services) scholarships for $1,000 each.
Thomas is the daughter of Beatrice Thomas. She is a member of the New Hope High School Beta Club, Spanish Honor Society and the Career Pathway Experience program. She plans to attend Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville to pursue a degree in interior design.
Wilson is the son of Jerome and Latayna Wilson. He has a 4.4 GPA and is involved in the Columbus High Marching and Jazz Band, National Beta Club, National Honor Scoiety and National Spanish Honor Society. He is president of the National Honor Society at Columbus High School. He plans to attend Alcorn State University to major in biology and pursue a career as an anesthesiologist.
Each year ICS awards scholarships to two area students in each of 14 counties.
