The holiday season is quickly approaching, and Mississippi University for Women is gearing up for a month-long series of activities titled Winter Fest at The W that begin Monday, Nov. 28.
The W has reimagined its holiday celebration, replacing the former single-evening activity that followed Wassail Fest downtown. MUW culinary students will serve wassail from the new CHEW food truck at the downtown event set for Friday, Dec. 2.
“Winter Fest at The W will allow the community to attend events at their convenience and will provide a variety of activities to choose from as we conclude classes for the semester,” said President Jim Borsig. “We hope that we’ll see many friends at The W throughout the month.”
Festivities on campus will begin with the lighting of The W Nov. 28 at 7 p.m., following the downtown tree lighting. Guests are invited to drive or walk through the historic campus and enjoy lights, wreaths and decorated trees to get into the holiday spirit.
Other events
While major events will wrap up Dec. 10, The W campus will be lit until January for guests to enjoy.
