Individuals who are looking to make healthier food choices and learn more about food labels will get to participate in a personalized grocery store tour offered through Mississippi University for Women’s Passport to Wellness program.
Marketplace Makeover, which is being sponsored by The W’s Office of Outreach and Innovation, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8. There will be three 50-minutes tours offered at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. at the Columbus Kroger.
Amanda Dahl, a registered and licensed dietitian at The W, will help take the confusion out of grocery shopping as she walks participates down store aisles.
In addition to making healthier food choices, the tour will highlight nutrient dense choices, how to read food labels and ways to slash grocery bill costs.
“We also hope to shed more light on meal prepping and making healthier food choices,” added Santee Ezell, Passport to Wellness project manager.
The tours are open to students, faculty, staff and community members. The event is free and open to the public.
