Nominations are being accepted for the inaugural Women of Distinction luncheon honoring women from the Golden Triangle area and benefitting Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
Women of Distinction provides an opportunity to recognize and link together a group of purpose-driven women in business, government and philanthropy. Like Girl Scouts, the women are dedicated to service and leadership throughout Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties.
Businesses, individuals and organizations are invited to nominate a special “Woman of Distinction” to be honored at this event. Women can be nominated for their leadership, community contributions and professional accomplishments. Nominees are positive role models whose accomplishments inspire girls to achieve their own goals and dreams. Nominated women, who so often go unrecognized, will be honored and thanked at the Women of Distinction luncheon on Friday, April 1 at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Outreach Center in Starkville.
Nominations must be submitted by March 4. A limit of 10 nominations will be accepted, on a first-come, first-served basis. The honorees will be selected and notified in advance. Nomination forms are available on the Girl Scouts Heart of the South website at girlscoutshs.org/womenofdistinction or by calling Jenny Jones at 662-350-6041.
Girl Scouts Heart of the South builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. For more information on how to join, volunteer, reconnect or donate to Girl Scouts, call 800-624-4185 or visit girlscoutshs.org.
