Palmer Home invites the Golden Triangle community to the fourth annual Southern Soiree at The Stables in Starkville Saturday, Feb. 13 for an evening of fine cuisine, live music and a silent auction benefitting the ministries of Palmer Home for Children.
Tickets are available for $50 per person through the events page at palmerhome.org.
Palmer Home for Children currently cares for more than 100 children in need through residential care at their Columbus and Hernando campuses and Jonah’s Journey, their caregiver network.
“We have high hopes of raising record high proceeds to benefit the children being served through our ministry,” said Palmer Home Marketing and Public Relations Manager Katharine Hewlett. “The Southern Soiree is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the mission of Palmer Home, and our community has supported it so well in the past.”
The annual event helps raise necessary funds to provide residential care at no cost to the children or their families. “And it gives us an opportunity to give back to those who faithfully support our children,” Hewlett said.
At the gala
Those attending the Soiree can expect an evening of fine food and live music by Poor House Bound, a local hit band based out of Columbus. A gift package valued at $750 will be raffled off during the event, and the silent auction will feature a large variety of items that will appeal to all, Hewlett noted. Additionally, former Miss Mississippi and recording artist Jasmine Murray will attend as a special guest.
“We’ve all heard the phrase ‘It takes a village,’ and we truly believe it takes all of the Golden Triangle community to raise these children,” said Hewlett. “By coming out and supporting this event, you’re helping to give these young ones hope for a brighter future — and it’s such a fun evening! Our volunteers are working hard to make this event a big success, so come prepared to have a good time.”
