The West Point-Clay County Arts Council is sponsoring a Gallery Hop and Shop bus trip to Jackson, Thursday, Feb. 18. Stops will include the Mississippi Crafts Center, home of the Craftsmen”s Guild of Mississippi, Renaissance at Colony Park and Southern Breeze Gallery. Other gallery visits planned are B. Liles Studio, Mark Millet Studio and Gallery and View Gallery.
The new Mississippi Crafts Center opened in 2007 and features more than 400 craftsmen and women. Golden Triangle artists Bessie Johnson, Poor Julia, Laurie Parker, Kathryn Davis, Melody Vydas and Michael Bailey are members of the Guild. Visitors will also view quiltwork by Rhonda Blassengame and a stained glass exhibit by Jerry Hymel. Visit the Center”s Web site at www.mscrafts.org for a preview.

How to go
With pick-up locations in Columbus, West Point and Starkville, art lovers from across the Golden Triangle can easily take part. The cost is $35 per person.
The Columbus pick-up is at 7:30 a.m. at the K-Mart parking lot on Highway 45 North. The West Point pick-up is at the First Presbyterian Church back parking lot at 8 a.m. The Starkville location is the Wal-Mart parking lot, near the garden center, at 8:30 a.m.
Organizers expect to arrive back in the Golden Triangle at approximately 7 p.m.
