“Winter is an etching, spring is a watercolor, summer an oil painting, and autumn is a mosaic of them all.”
Stanley Horowitz, poet
Photographer Laird Bagnall made his way back to Columbus from the Golden Triangle Regional Airport as dawn was breaking Nov. 14. He took the long way home.
A chill hung in the air as he traveled along Highway 50, through Clay County and to Harbor Point, and then on to Officers Lake Road in Lowndes County. Bagnall used his Nikon 5200 DSLR camera with an 18-55 mm lens to record the early-morning peace. No filters were used.
“It was a crisp 36 degrees, so the mist off the water, as it rose to meet the sun lighting the treetops, made for some wonderful color combinations,” said Bagnall.
From icy blue to pastel pinks, yellows and oranges, the changing hues reflected a glimpse of November’s beauty.
