The Starkville/MSU Symphony Association will present the Summer Symphony Chorus in concert Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Connection Building at the corner of Lampkin and Washington Streets in downtown Starkville. Under the direction of Peter Infanger, the chorus will perform three settings of Psalm 117.
Also appearing in the concert will be harpsichordist Jackie Edwards-Henry, who will play “Travelin’ Music” by Douglas McConnell, and the Gospel Nightcrawlers, a bluegrass group associated with Columbus’ First United Methodist Church and led by Doug Browning, music director of the Symphony Chorus.
The concert will be preceded at 7 p.m. by desserts and coffees contributed by local restaurants and coffee shops. Concert-goers are invited to come early and enjoy refreshments and spend some time visiting with friends prior to the program.
The concert is free. However, an offering will be received to benefit the Starkville/MSU Symphony Association.
