Christine Butler-Williams of Columbus honors mothers with her latest collection of welcomes, poems, skits and speeches titled “Mother’s Day Program Planner for Successful Church Programs.”
The 40-page book contains materials for all age groups, from young children to adults. The planner is useful for various occasions such as religious events and family gatherings, and can also be a gift for mothers, explained Butler-Williams.
“Making Mother happy on her day is very important,” said the former educator. “She will enjoy hearing her young, middle-aged or older child recite a loving poem to her for Mother’s Day.”
The paperback contains such titles as “My Mother is the Best,” “God Gave Us Mothers,” “I’ll Always Love My Mom,” “Mother’s Day Prayer” and many more.
The writer will hold a book signing at the main entrance of Leigh Mall Saturday, April 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The book’s cost at the signing is $5.
Butler-Williams has worked in school settings, as a consultant and freelance writer, and in various capacities with youth groups and religious organizations. She is also the author of “Religious Rainbow Collections,” “Wholehearted Welcomes and Responses,” “Fantastic Father’s Day Treasures,” “Powerful Program Keys” and “Poems of Comfort.”
She views religious writing as a “gift of service.” Through her ministry, her goal is “to glorify God and be a blessing to others in some way,” she said. “Not only now, but for years to come.”
