Holiday fever is building. One sure sign is the annual Hitching Lot Holiday Market set for Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market Advisory Board and Main Street Columbus present this seventh annual seasonal showcase of local art, produce, baked goods, live music, children’s activities and more.
“Local artists, crafters, bakers and growers participate, allowing market-goers to enjoy locally made and crafted items just in time for Thanksgiving and the holidays,” said Barbara Bigelow, executive director of Main Street Columbus.
Booth space is $3 and may be reserved by contacting Main Street Columbus at 662-328-6305 by Tuesday, Nov. 11. Advance registration is required.
Holiday Market guidelines are the same as the regular season farmers’ market: All produce, products and art must be locally grown, made or “conjured up.” Items must be sold by the grower or artist who produced them. To ensure a quality event, the Hitching Lot committee reserves the right to refuse any items that do not comply with guidelines.
The Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market mission statement is to support the development of local sustainable farming by cultivating a vibrant market that serves as a community gathering place celebrating local farmers, food producers and artisans.
The market is located at the corner of Second Avenue and Second Street North in downtown Columbus.
