Campus Recreation at Mississippi University for Women is teaming up with local businesses to co-host the fifth annual Charity Fitness Party fundraiser.
The fundraiser will help to benefit the Father’s Child Ministry which was founded by Edward Yeates. The ministry’s mission is to influence fatherless young men and women to reach their potential through faith while utilizing community resources.
The event will take place Monday, Sept. 23 in the Pohl Gymnasium on the MUW campus from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Charity Fitness Party will include aerobic exercises such as Zumba, R.I.P.P.E.D. and kickboxing. Jason Sims from Max Muscle will be giving tips on sports nutrition. Door prizes will be provided by local sponsors.
“The charity is a worthy cause and benefits many single parents and children in the Golden Triangle area,” said Marion McEwen, Campus Recreation wellness coordinator.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door and may be purchased through participating sponsors: Fitness Factor, Columbus YMCA, Max Muscle, OCH Wellness Connection in Starkville and local Zumba instructor Bonnie Partridge.
