Columbus' Market Street Festival May 3-4 may be three months away, but entries for the event's Juried Arts Competition are already being accepted by the Columbus Arts Council. All artists 18 and older are invited to submit works in three categories: painting/drawing; 3D art, including fiber arts; and photography.
A cash award of $500 will go to the Best in Show entry. First place in each of the three categories will take home $200; second place in each category will receive $100. The recipient of the People's Choice award will receive a refund of entry fees and a People's Choice ribbon.
All entries will be displayed in the Rosenzweig Arts Center gallery in downtown Columbus during the two-day festival and throughout the month of May.
Applications for submissions must be postmarked by March 8. Download applications through links at columbus-arts.com or marketstreetfestival.com.
Artists may enter up to three works per medium for an entry fee of $40 by March 8; entry fee for applications submitted March 8-15 is $50. Printouts with the image and title, size, medium and completion date must accompany the application form. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by April 27.
