The newly opened Mississippi Modern Homestead Center in Starkville hosts its first Women’s Wellness Retreat Jan. 11-13.
The retreat will feature workshops such as “The Nourishing Kitchen,” “Backyard Medicine” and “Finding Your Story.”
Saturday evening, Jan. 12, will be “sushi night” with chef and author Marissa Baggett of Memphis, Tenn.
Keynote speaker Lindsay Wilson, an area wellness coach, will address participants Saturday night, speaking on the theme “Reconnecting with the Feminine.” Other activities are offered throughout the weekend.
The Homestead Center is a 5,000-square-foot lodge on six acres of lakefront property, with gardens, trails and farm animals.
“If your New Year’s resolution has to do with self-care, nourishment, health, wellness and intention, then this is the place and the community for you,” said Homestead co-founder, Alison Buehler.

The Mississippi Modern Homestead Center has a schedule of workshops, special events and retreats planned for men, women and homesteaders of all ages. Workshop topics range from crocheting, preserving food and keeping small animals to preparing healthy meals and homemade herbal remedies.
