The Provisional Class of Junior Auxiliary of Starkville was recently recognized by the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, earning the Merrill Alexander Greenlee Award. The award is presented to a chapter whose provisional class develops an outstanding or unique project that exemplifies the spirit of Junior Auxiliary.
In the past year, this class developed and implemented project Body and Mind (BAM), which teaches health, nutrition, self esteem and fitness to students in fourth and fifth grades in the Starkville Public School District After-School program.
The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries encourages member to render charitable services beneficial to the general public with particular emphasis on children.
